Who we are
muguda-wakwa is an AgriTech desk for farms, gardens, livestock, irrigation, inventory, and the real-food marketplace in Kenya. We are the data controller for farm accounts, holding records, and marketplace activity. We are not a hospital, health agency, or logistics company. Delivery of confirmed marketplace orders is a farm-to-market service inside this platform.
What we collect
Account details (name, email, phone, farm or group name). Holding data you enter: plots, crops, seasons, livestock identities, harvests, inventory, and certificates. Device and sensor data you connect (irrigation, soil, cameras). Marketplace listings, orders, and delivery tracking for food you sell or buy. Technical logs needed to keep the desk secure (IP, device type, sign-in time). Public-site visits only if you tap Allow visits: page path, referrer, time, and a hashed device fingerprint.
What we do not collect
We do not collect hospital records, patient files, KRA PIN unless you later choose to add a tax document yourself, or advertising profiles. We do not sell farm or visitor data.
Why we use it
To run your farmer account, keep food traceable from plot to stall, show honest organic and conventional labels, match confirmed orders to transport, send alerts you asked for, and improve the desk. Lawful bases: contract (your account), legitimate interest (security and product reliability), and consent (visit analytics and optional alerts).
Who can see farm data
Holding records stay on your account until you list produce or animals. Buyers see only what you publish on a listing (origin, handling, classification). Platform operators can view network totals (farms, harvests, sensor health) to support food supply. They cannot use your password.
How long we keep it
Account and farm ledgers while the account is open. After you request erasure we delete farms, animals, harvests, and sensors tied to that farmer account, except records we must keep for a legal dispute, tax, or security incident. Visit logs are first-party and can be refused at any time.
Your rights (Kenya Data Protection Act)
You may access, correct, export, or erase your farm records. After sign-in, use Compliance in the farmer desk, or email [email protected]. You may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (Kenya).
Security
Access is role-based. Sessions use encrypted cookies. Emails and recovery documents come from muguda-wakwa, never from a health or third-party office brand.
